Education in İzmir SEV Schools is designed with the understanding of “Live, Learn, Love” in the light of the philosophy of “Learn at the highest level with student-centered, data-based teaching.” The learning and teaching process in our school is planned and carried out with a teaching model in which contemporary teaching methods and approaches developed in the light of scientific studies are adapted to the philosophy of our school.
Our goal in the SEV Teaching Model, which we refer to as SAIL, is to:
Design a teaching system which allows students to maximize their academic, social, and cultural potential with the understanding that each student is unique and a whole in themselves, thereby raise individuals who can learn autonomously by putting what they have learned into practice in real life.
Our efforts to achieve this goal include:
-
Developing our students' thinking skills and reflect this positively on their academic and social lives,
-
Keeping our teacher and teaching standards in compliance with the requirements of the era, at an international quality level,
-
Enriching the curriculum and school program in accordance with our goals.
Each student who embarks on a learning journey in our institution is involved in the education and teaching process with the ‘Whole Child’ approach. In order for students to gain autonomy with all the work we do within the scope of the SAIL – SEV Teaching Model, we aim to promote them from the “passenger seat” to the “second captain's seat” during their learning journey in our school, and ensure that they graduate as the captain of their own ship at the end of the 8th grade.
Designed for effective teaching and effective learning, the SAIL – SEV Teaching Model essentially consists of three parts:
-
Designing Courses - UbD Planning
-
“Best Practices” integrated in designs, Differentiated Teaching, Cognitive-based Learning, PASS Theory
-
Assessment and Evaluation Studies in Teaching and Learning
