OBJECTIVES:
Turkish education program of SEV İzmir aims to develop in students an awareness of details in literary works of different cultures and different authors. The aim of the programme is to improve the thinking, listening, speaking, and writing skills of the students. The students are offered various opportunities to use the skills they have acquired in classroom applications so that;

Reading becomes a part of their lives,

They can speak actively and correctly about their observations , something they have listened to or read,

They can write about their observations , something they have listened to or read using various techniques,

They experience scientific, critical and creative thinking.
PROGRAM:
In the fifth,sixth and seventh grades, the national curriculum is followed using the set of novels that are chosen in accordance with the age level. Literary Works of different genres are integrated into the curriculum in order to develop narrative techniques and linguistics. This allow students to improve their depth of knowledge and to use the skills they have acquired in classroom applications. Students are taught the skills for judgment and comprehend the main themes presented in literary texts.
Written expressions primarily focus on paragraph structures. In the eighth grade, students are expected to write poems and essays with thesis statements. Creative and critical thinking of the students are improved through the analysis of stories, novels, and poems. Students are prepared for the High School Entrance exams through a special supplementary program in SEV İzmir.
