One of our goals at our school is to raise our students’ awareness of other cultures. Our foreign teachers help our students learn about and respect different cultures and model what it means to be a global citizen. This year we celebrated Halloween a week earlier due to the Republic Day activities next week. While 5th and 6th grade students celebrated Halloween in their English classes by doing fun activities, our 7th grade students gained a greater awareness of the culture of Halloween through the hands-on activities organized by their English teacher, Mr. Shawn Ward in Balloon Court. Our students enjoyed the traditional Halloween activities such as bobbing for apples, mask making, mummy wrapping, spooky floating simit challenge, eyeball racing, and the Karaoke song, “12 Days of Halloween.”
