Our English staff started the preparation period for the 2016 – 2017 Academic Year with the training on Inquiry-based Learning and Making Thinking Visible. Developed by the educators at Harvard Graduate School of Education, Project Zero Visible Thinking Routines aim to create and sustain powerful cultures of learning in classrooms to cultivate communities that can think more and learn better. During the workshop held at the end of the training, our teachers prepared and presented sample lessons to show how these thinking routines can be used in English classes. Professional development sessions on improving our students’ thinking and learning skills and creating learning environments that foster student engagement and motivation will continue during the academic year.
