Izmır SEV JMUN team continued their journey this weekend as they visited SEV sister school Üsküdar SEV for the fifth annual JMUN event. This year’s theme was Sustainable Development and the students all worked very hard to come up with solutions to some very serious problems facing the world. The students had been working hard for weeks to research and study their topics during the club hours. By the time the conference started, they were ready to meet some new friends to collaborate on new resolutions to serious topics like climate change and the growing refugee crisis. The students workd hard to debate the best ways to address these problems and wrote their solutions together. Sixth grade student Ela Karer, and seventh graders Derin Öğütçü and Melis Akkoca, who acted as ambassadors for their delegation, gave a welcoming speech in front of the entire conference. Even though it was difficult at times the students worked hard and had a great weekend as they met new friends and developed skills that will help them excell in the coming years.
