147 Sabri ALANYALI RESEARCH CLUBS: READING FOR MAIN IDEAS AND SUPPORTING IDEAS I think it is important for researchers to know how to find information. We look at three books to find sub-topics and then we picked a sub-topic. We know it is important because the sub- topic is in two or three books. A sub-topic for pandas is bamboo. My group was reading about bamboo. Bamboo is healthy for pandas. When we read about bamboo, we can find other ideas about bamboo and that is called a supporting idea. Arya ÖZGÖRKEY With my group – we looked at all the table of contents in our set and when we found something the same we called it a sub-topic. We all read the books and made a T-Graph and wrote what the text says and what we think. When we read the books and put the information together it is called synthesis. Some of the words I know and when I know the words I can use my own words. If you read one book – maybe there is not enough information so I think more books help us find more details. Beliz DOĞAN TIPS FOR RESEARCHING WELL If you research something do not use just one book. Put some ideas together and make new ideas. If you want to research well – you can be a researcher and find information in books or magazines or websites from the library. In some books – the authors give you a website. It is important to like your topic. If you don’t like your topic your ideas won’t be amazing. They will be standard. If you like something, you do it with your heart and your project will be beautiful.
