21 Arel ULUKUŞ I love being a JMUNer. This has been the best club I have ever been in. I joined JMUN because I heard it from many different people and everyone said that it is the best so I decided to take the exam. I passed and I didn’t know anything about JMUN. I was very nervous in the first club lesson. The seventh graders told us about JMUN but I still didn’t know anything. Then, in the second lesson, the club divided in two as the seventh and the sixth graders. Ms. Göknur helped us adapt very easily. We had to work hard to learn how to write position papers and resolution papers. Our first conference was Ekin JMUN. Our countries we would represent in the conference were Gabon (An African country) and Venezuela (A South American country). I was Gabon and I was in a committee called SOCHUM (Social Humanitarian and Cultural Committee) with my friend Emre. I started to do research on my country and my committee. We worked very hard. Soon it was time for the conference. I was both nervous and curious. We went to Ekin and it was beautiful. We went to the opening ceremony first. During the conference which lasted three days, we had some committee sessions and we socialized. Then the closing ceremony came. I got the “Best Delegate” award and my friend Efe got the “Outstanding Delegate” award. Our second conference was Tarsus JMUN. Our countries were Chile, USA and Spain. I was Chile and I was in the Legal committee. The seventh graders came with us, too. I stayed with my friends Cem and Rüzgar. On the days of the conference we woke up very early. The conference lasted for 2 days. On the first day we had the opening ceremony and ambassadors made their speeches. Then, the sessions started I saw my very close friend from Hisar Schools. The second day we had more sessions and then the closing ceremony. I didn’t get any awards but my friends got a total of 6 awards. We were proud! Both my JMUN experiences were unbelievably fun! I think that JMUN also improves my English a lot. So, I recommend all my friends to join this club. This is the best club I have ever been in! Sevinç DOKUCU Hello, I’m Sevinç and I’m in the JMUN club this year. The reasons why I wanted to be in JMUN is because I was an admin in our school’s JMUN conference. My LA teacher Mr.Park encouraged me to be in the JMUN Club, so I tried really hard to pass the exam. On the day of the JMUN club exam I was really worried, The exam was hard. There was a long article about refugees in Italy. For me it went well .The second part of the exam was the debate. It was about bringing phones to school and I was the affirmative team. After the exam I was so nervous. Then they put the exam scores up and I had the 5th highest score! Our first conference was Ekin and I was in UNEP. My country was Venezuela. I was so nervous and happy, I didn’t know much but it went well. I learned many new things! The happiest moment was probably when they were announcing the awards. All of us were sure that we weren’t going to get any awards, but surprisingly we did! Arel got the best delegate and Efe got outstanding delegate awards. Our second conference was in Tarsus. We went to Adana with the 7th Grade JMUN group .Tarsus went way better than Ekin and I actually liked my country and committee better. I was Spain and my committee was Political committee. In the end we got so many awards, I can’t even remember! Right now we are preparing for Antalya to participate in TAJMUN and my country is Belgium. I’m in the ECOSOC committee. I am super excited!
