261 Ayça GÖKÇE In this project, we gathered as a group and wrote about our research on aquaponics. Aquaponics is a form of agriculture that combines fish in tanks with soilless planting. What we did in this project was drawing a model of an aquaponics system and write about what aquaponics is. We worked hard as a group and did a great job. Two people in the group did research, two other people wrote down their findings, and one last member drew the model. I learned a lot from this project and I had fun while learning. It was good to listen to each other’s ideas and turn them into one whole project. I wish we will do more projects like this in the future too. Zeynep ÖZKAYALAR This year we did a group project titled aquaponics. When we started this project I was really curious about what an aquaponics system was. Before this project, we had done a project named hydroponics so I thought that two of them would be similar to each other and I was right. In hydroponics, you add fertilizer but in aquaponics, the fish make the fertilizer. In the end, the two types of systems plant plants without using soil. In the aquaponics project, our teacher first showed us a video of an aquaponics system. The aquaponics system was cool because it had fish making fertilizer. Also, you can eat the plants and the fish too. Next, we learned the instructions. The instructions were: writing the benefits of the aquaponics system, writing about the difficulties that can be had with the aquaponics system, and lastly, finding the best fish for the system. From this project I have learned the answer to “How can we plant things without soil?” At the same time, I learned many things about this system. This project was really interesting and fun. Enis SANSOLO In the first term, we did an aquaponics system project. In this project, we drew the aquaponics system on a poster. We also draw plants, fish and water. Besides drawing, we wrote about the aquaponics system and our thoughts and ideas as a group. We learned about aquaponics system and how it helps plants to grow. This is a good thing for people. It’s helpful. I liked this project. Yagmur URGA In our CE class, we learned about aquaponics systems. Aquaponics is working with fish and making food. We made a project about this with three other classmates. For this, we researched how the system works. When we found the information we added it to our informational poster. I wrote about the best fish to use with aquaponics. Before starting this project I didn’t know anything about aquaponics. Now I know how the system works and the benefits of using it. Ela ŞAİROĞLU This year in Core English lesson we did a project about the aquaponics system. In this project, we needed to research and find the answers to 4 questions. The questions were: Which plants are right for aquaponics, which fish are right for aquaponics, what problems can aquaponics systems have, and what do we need to do make own aquaponics system design. We worked in groups. First, we shared jobs. My job was to draw our own aquaponics and decorate the poster. I had this job because my drawing was good. My job was not too hard so I helped my friends. I want to share with you what I learned from this project. I learned that goldfish are just right for the aquaponics system. The best plants to grow in aquaponics is lettuce and herbs because this pH is just right for them. I learned these and more. I liked this project because I learned different things. Another thing I like about this project is that we worked in groups. I think doing projects in groups is more fun.
