28 Aslı Zeynep ÇAYLI WSC was a nice experience for me. 21 different schools came to our school and joined the İzmir round. We debated, practiced collaborative writing, and played in the Scholar’s bowl. My favorite activity was the Scholar’s bowl. We were answering questions on the board with our clickers and then we got our very own fluffy alpacas! After lunch, we got a chance to watch the Scholar’s show. There the students from other schools showed their talents. Our school showed ours too! At the end of the tournament, we all received our medals and cups! WSC rounds are so fun! I can’t wait to go to the global rounds in The Hague. Begüm TUNCER In WSC, we went to a tournament held at our school. We had a lot of fun. On the first day, it was really stressful because we had to do all our debates. We won all our debates and then moved onto the Collaborative writing where I wrote about the topic of literature and my teammates about other areas. After that, we went and did our tests. It was really hard. The second day was the fun day. On that day, we did our on screen tests with our teammates. It was hard too. Then they announced the winners - we won a trophy and some medals as well. Now we are going to go to The Hague for the global round. I have to say that this tournament was really fun and hard at the same time. Arda BALIN In the World Scholars Cup this year, we did a lot of debating and it was lots of fun. Now I want to talk about the tournament in our school. It was really fun and a great experience. We also got to meet people from other schools. I think all of our teams did pretty well; it was a good tournament for our school and for all of us. Berrak ÖZCAN This year in the World Scholars Cup we have done a lot of fun things. This was my first time in this club and I have already learned many new things. We just recently participated in a tournament. It was really fun and as a school we did a really great job. Cenk TÜTÜNCÜ I think the world scholar’s cup is a good opportunity for everyone who who wishes to have academic debates, improve their English and speaking skills. Thanks. Ege SABANCI The Worlds Scholars Cup is a debating club. The first time I went there, I felt really excited because I thought that they were going to give us an alpaca! And they did! After that, I felt like a real alpaca owner. When we went to the Team Debate in the local round , we won two debates and we lost one. In the Scholars challenge, they were asking questions, then we answered them. That was really hard to do. After watching the talent show and saw how talented some of the students were, I felt under-talented!. This feeling left me when I won some medals at the closing ceremony.
