168 S E V E C E N 2 0 2 0 İpek ERTÜRK In our Core English lessons we’ve done a lot of projects this term. One of them was My Island Project. In this project we had to use our imagination. We had to design our own island. We named our island and designed a flag. My island’s name was Disney. We gave some information such as its population, location, and the climate. We also wrote about the endangered animals that lived on the island and a list of the survival equipment we needed. We wrote our own rules and laws. This project was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed it. Defne ÖZCENK My name is Defne from 6C. In Core English lessons we worked on a project called “My Island”. In this project we designed our own island. We wrote the rules on this island, we designed a flag and drew a map of the island. We wrote about the dangerous creatures that lived on the island, its climate and population. I liked this project because I like to design new things. Berke KENAR Hi my name is Berke Kenar. I am in class 6D. The island project was a very fun project. First, you created a new island with your partner and found a name for your island. Second, you wrote interesting rules for your island using modal verbs like should and must. Third, You drew your island. It’s a very important thing to do because you develop your imagination. Thank you for reading. Ahmet Emir ÖZYURT Hi I am Emir Özyurt from 6D. I want to tell you about “My Island” project. First, in My Island project we created our own island, which I thought was so exciting. In this project we wrote the rules of our island too and also we learned how to use “must, should, have to, must not, should not and don’t have to.” So we learned while we were having fun. This is a two person project, so we improved our communication and team working abilities too. It was very fun! Deniz SIRTI In this project we made a map and wrote about the rules of our own island! Our task was to write these rules using Have To/ Must/Mustn’t. We were like a president! This was a fun project because we could work in teams and it made the project so much fun. This was more about creativity but there was still the grammar and hard work. Selim GÜLEÇ We made our own islands and it was fun! We were the ruler of the island and we created the rules, the climate, the weather and the creatures of our island. It was about grammar and creativity. It was a nice project! I think everyone was happy with this project.
