The words were archeologist and civilization. This was the 1st lesson. In the second lesson, we researched one ancient civilization on the internet. I researched Ancient Rome. This was an example of what we were going to do. Then, in the same lesson, we created our own Ancient Alien Civilization. We answered questions questions about it. This was the 2nd lesson. In the 3rd lesson, we researched the word science fiction. We wrote the meaning of it in the M2M booklets. We looked at some science fiction films and this was the 4th lesson. In the 5th lesson, we did a storyboard of our animation. A storyboard is a graphic organizer. Finally, we made an animation from our storyboard ideas. I really enjoyed this project. It was so much fun. Sarp ÜNAL This project was one of my favorite projects so far. We did everything from writing to animation. First, we introduced ourselves to the people at Nasa. Then we told them that we are an archeologist and we told them what we do (for some reason they did not know that!). Then we designed our alien civilization. We learned about science fiction and how people use it to talk about real problems in the world. Then we did our animation. We used programs like stop motion and sock puppets. Finally we presented our projects to the class. Ece ÜSTÜNKARLI For M2M we first learned about archeology and ancient civilizations. To start, we created an ancient civilization on Mars. There were once aliens who lived there and we discovered all about their way of life. After that, we created a storyboard to plan an animation about them. We also learned that civilizations have certain characteristics like cities, writing, agriculture and more. The animation was about how we found that place and what kind of creatures lived there. It was really fun because I like archeology. Also, everyone created really different and weird civilizations. MISSION TO MARS In the Mission to Mars project our students explored the world of archaeology, ancient civilizations, science fiction and making animations. Each student became an archaeologist sent on a mission to Mars in order to research an ancient alien civilization. Students learned about the characteristics that make a civilization and used them to create their own storyboards and animations about the aliens.
