I used it in class when we read the story “Science Friction.” It was fun to make the booklet so I can remember what each one means. I can use the booklet in class when we read other stories. SHAMPOO BOOKLET This term in Language Arts lessons students learned about seven different types of figurative language: simile, hyperbole, alliteration, metaphor, personification, onomatopoeia, and oxymoron (or SHAMPOO). We then created a flip booklet that gave a definition of the word, an example, and an image of each type of figurative language. Students used the booklet to help them find examples of figurative language as they read the short story “Science Friction” by David Lubar. Celeste Maus Zuhal Eren
