S E V E C E N 2 0 2 0 193 Alya ERKUT The story was about Hades and Persephone. In the beginning of the story, Hades fall in love with Persephone because Aphrodite shot her with Eros’s arrow. Then he kidnapped Persephone to the underworld. After that, Demeter found that her daughter was missing. She figured out that Hades kidnapped Persephone, she went to Zeus and Hermes brought her to underworld. Persephone said that she is in love with Hades. There was a rule in the underworld, if you eat something in the underworld you must stay in the underworld. In the end, Persephone said that she ate six pomegranate seeds. She stayed six months in the underworld and. Six months with Demeter. From this myth, the Ancient Greeks learned why we have seasons. PANDORA’S BOX Ömer GAFFAROĞLU The story was about how Epimetheus felt alone. First he told this to Zeus and Zeus created a girl for Epimetheus. They named her Pandora. Pandora and Epimetheus loved eachother. Then they got married. Epimetheus showed Pandora everything except one box. Pandora promised to not open that box. One day Pandora heard a voice from that box saying “help”. Pandora was kind so when opened it. There was bad things that came out from the box and they hurt Pandora. Epimetheus came quickly and Pandora told him why she did. They realized there was only one thing left on the box and that was hope. Defne KÜRÜM The story was about Pandora and her curiosity. First, Ephimetheus was lonely and the gods made him Pandora and they got married. After that, Ephimetheus showed her around his house but didn’t show her one box. Pandora was curious but didn’t open it. After a while, Pandora heard a creature calling her name from inside the box. Then, out of curiosity, she opened the box and misfortunes flew out, biting and scratching her. Ephimetheus came home and saw her on the floor. They talked and then a creature spoke from the box again. The creature was hope and hope stayed with them forever. From this myth, the Ancient Greeks learned that too much curiosity can be bad.
