S E V E C E N 2 0 2 0  197 Lara BUDAK This semester in Core English we did a project that I enjoyed very much. It was integrity flower. Integrity means honesty and being positive in your own personal way. It’s really difficult to explain the word integrity because it is such a meaningful word. In the integrity flower project on paper and we stuck tiny papers to the template and created a flower. Each of the little papers had on them ways we can show integrity. As small groups in our class we did this project and I personally liked it a lot. I think integrity is a very important part of the personality of a person because without integrity, an individual wouldn’t be honest, trustworthy, or kind. This is what I think of this integrity flower project and integrity on its own. Ali TATARİ The project we did with the flowers of integrity was especially meaningful for me. It is meaningful because in the future I plan to get a tattoo about my name ‘ALİ.’ On my left arm it will write athleticism, on my chest it will say legacy, and on my right arm it will say integrity. For me my plan is to have my tattoos say things about my personality and this work was useful because it helped me to further understand the meaning to the word. At the same time it taught us a life lesson about being honest no matter what, which I deeply believe in. Esma PEKÜN This year, in our Core English, we made a flower about integrity. While working on this project work, I felt happy and proud because it gave me a chance to really learn what integrity’s meaning is and what it means for me. In case you don’t know, according to Cambridge dictionary integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles that you refuse to change. With this knowledge in hand, my friends and I made a flower about this topic where we wrote on every petal different ways we show integrity. While we were doing this project, I realized that I myself need to work more on my own integrity. I loved doing this type of class work because when I made my flower I learned and had fun. This is the one of the best works we have done this year. INTEGRITY GROWS Students in their grade 7 Core English class worked to understand what integrity means and how they could show it. They worked on creating their own flowers with sentence strips explaining how they can show integrity.
