It will be so fun!” Rebecca Sayers ACI BUDDY READERS VISIT GRADE THREE This semester, our Grade 3 students were treated to a visit from students from ACI for the Buddy Reading Program. In preparation for this visit, we practiced how to be good listeners and how to answer reading comprehension questions. ACI readers were paired with our Grade 3 students, reading them storybooks they had chosen from our school library. After they finished reading, the ACI students asked our students questions about the author, illustrator, and about the events that happened within the story. The ACI students then changed partners so that each of our students were able to hear at least two stories, and sometimes more! Our students thanked their ACI reading partners with thank you cards we had made in class the prior week. ACI students were so happy to share their love of reading with our students, and our SEV students were equally happy to participate in the Buddy Reading Program. Our students enjoyed it so much that they want to visit ACI next semester to read to their Buddies. We can’t wait to see them again and share the memories of our Buddy Reading Program!
